Surviving The Rising Costs of Las Vegas

Industry

This week we report on more costs of Las Vegas that keep going up, and the odds of winning in a Las Vegas casino that continue to drop! But there is at least one Vegas resort down on Fremont Street that’s trying to keep things affordable!

Hello all you good looking players out there, and welcome to This Week in Gambling where we’re discussing the rising costs of Las Vegas and how you can avoid some of the prices that are putting a big dent in other people’s travel plans. Back in May we discussed the reasons behind the rising prices of Las Vegas hotel rooms and food. Then in June we discussed how casinos are changing the odds on some of their games to boost their profits even higher. I mean, the city wasn’t built on winners people!

Now comes word that taxis and ride share services like Uber and Lyft will also be raising their prices. So, your trip from the airport to the hotel and back again could soon cost you as much as 50% more than it did just a few months ago. And some casinos have now started to eliminate the $1 chips from roulette tables because…they don’t want anyone betting just a dollar! So to surmise, travel and food costs of Las Vegas are up… it also costs you more to stay in Vegas… and you’re not winning as much money while you’re in Vegas. Isn’t there anyone out there that’s looking out for the little guy?

Actually, there is… but you’re going to have to get off the Strip and head to the Downtown Grand… located in the historic Fremont Street area! And right now they’re running their “Welcome Back to Downtown” promotion where you can find $5 craps games along with $1 blackjack tables! They also have inexpensive food options like $2 hot dogs, plus beer and shots for just $3.50 and they have reasonably priced rooms along with free parking for their customers! So if you’re worried about the rising costs of Las Vegas or you’re on a budget, be sure you check out the Downtown Grand! And no, they did not pay me anything to come out here and say all these things! But if they’re reading this and they want to comp me a room, I wouldn’t say no!
