On Wednesday, December 15th, 2021 the Norwegian national superstar striker of Borussia Dortmund, Erling Haaland, scored 2 – goals in order to help his team defeat the last – place Greuther Fürth with a final tally of 3 to 0. This victory for Borussia Dortmund prevents Bayern Munich from increasing their lead in the Bundesliga League any further.
Haaland expanded his overall count to 13 – goals over the course of his 10 – Bundesliga League performances as well as keeping Borussia Dortmund only 6 – points in back of the first – place Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga League with approximately half of this current season remaining to be played.
Borussia Dortmund had to be patient and wait up until the 82nd – minute of match play for their big – time striker Haaland to seal the deal, and Donyell Malen eventually got their football club the team’s 3rd goal of the contest versus Greuther Fürth on last Wednesday.
The Borussia Dortmund football club crapped out of the opportunity to ultimately take the overall lead in the Bundesliga League earlier this month when they came up short against Bayern Munich with a final score of 3 to 2, and then Borussia Dortmund even more ground in the German football league with their draw at promoted Bochum.
Haaland’s 33rd – minute penalty shot goal gave Borussia Dortmund the 1 to 0 lead at halftime versus Greuther Fürth, who just secured their 1st – win of the season in the Bundesliga League vs. Union Berlin on last Sunday, December 12th, 2021.
The visiting side came with a furious force prior to the break when Bellingham escaped his 2nd – yellow card following his foul on Max Christiansen. The head coach of Greuther Fürth, Stefan Leitl, was booked up for his protests on the play.
The head coach of Borussia Dortmund, Marco Rose, decided to take Jude Bellingham off of the pitch at halftime. Bellingham will eventually and inevitably be suspended for Saturday’s contest at Hertha Berlin for his accumulation of 5 – yellow cards which means that the England international has taken his winter break a bit prematurely.
Greuther Fürth kept things competitive following the half – time break when there were some whistles from Dortmund supporters who were ultimately frustrated with their club’s lack of urgency in the match.
Haaland finally secured the win for Dortmund in this match with a perfectly placed header over to Julian Brandt’s free – kick for a goal score, and Brandt also set up Malen for the 3rd and final goal of game during the 89th – minute of play. This was a very important victory for Borussia Dortmund as they look to compete in the highly – competitive Bundesliga League this season.
Media Statements
“It was important after the last two games to get three points again,” the goalkeeper of Dortmund, Gregor Kobel, stated.
“If that had been a (Fürth) player, he would have been gone,” says the Fürth sporting director, Rachid Azzouzi, who suggested that there was some unequal treatment from the referees in this match on Wednesday.
“I think it’s subconscious, if you commit a mistake against Dortmund then there’s theater. If you make a mistake against Fürth, no one will talk about it in three hours,” Azzouzi expressed.
