On Tuesday, November 30th, 2021 Atalanta defeated Venezia with a final tally of 4 to 0. Mario Pašalić recorded a hat trick as he scored three times during this lopsided win for Atalanta.

Atalanta progressed to even on points with the 3rd – place Inter Milan, and Atalanta moved to just 4 – points under Napoli who is the leader of Serie A. Venezia stayed 5 – points over the relegation zone as well.

The match began with Atalanta getting off to a quick and efficient start in Bergamo. They took control of the game during the 7th – minute when Josip Iličić sent a pass across to Pašalić, who shot the football into the bottom right corner of the goal for his first score of the contest.

Pašalić got his 2nd – goal in the 12th – minute after a one – two with his teammate, Luis Muriel. Atalanta now was leading the match 2 to 0 at that point.

The high – powered Croatian midfielder nearly completed a hat trick early on after halftime, but the goal tender of Venezia, Sergio Romero, just so happened to knock away his strong shot attempt following another remarkable pass from his companion Iličić.

Atalanta’s lead in match was then extended to 3 to 0 during the 57th – minute when Koopmeiners took a piercing shot that sent the football down in to the right bottom corner of the net.

During the 67th – minute of the match Pašalić finally recorded his hat trick as he gathered the ball miraculously as his back was to the goal, and then he struck the ball deep into the back of the net with another strong shot. This put Atalanta up 4 to 0 against Venezia last Tuesday.

Pašalić was also close to getting an assist as well during the game, but following his pass to Muriel, Muriel’s shot attempt bounced off of the bottom of the left post of the goal.

In another Serie A match, Juventus managed to survive in a close game against Salernitana. Juve eventually won with a final score of 2 to 0 versus the Serie A last – place Salernitana. Paulo Dybala and Álvaro Morata both scored goals for Juve, and Juventus stayed in 7th – place as well as 7 – points behind the 4th – place Atalanta and the last qualifying position in the Champions League.

Juve was dying for a victory as they have been greatly jeered by their fans after Juventus lost at home to Atalanta with a final tally of 1 to 0 over the last weekend. That happened just 4 – days after their 4 to 0 loss to Chelsea in play of the Champions League.
