Wynn Millions Poker Series Feb. 21-March 20 Features $10M GTD Tournament

Poker News

The Wynn Millions series from February 21 to March 20 is going to be one of the biggest non-World Series of Poker (WSOP) events the Las Vegas poker community has ever seen.

For the second time in less than a year, the Wynn poker room on the Strip will host a $10 million guaranteed tournament beginning March 3. But it won’t be the only event during the series promised to surpass $1 million. In fact, two other tournaments during Wynn Millions will crack the seven-figure mark, and a third ($1,100 No-Limit Hold’em) guarantees at least $500,000.

That includes the return of the popular and unique Mystery Bounty, a $1,600 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament with a surprise bounty hidden inside an envelope after busting another player. Play begins February 24 and guarantees at least $1.5 million in total prize money.

A Little Something for Everyone

In total, the Wynn Millions winter poker series features 16 events with more than $15 million in prize money to be awarded. There’s a tournament for just about any type of poker player — high stakes, mid-stakes, no-limit hold’em, pot-limit Omaha, bounty events, etc. And there are two seniors events for players aged 50 and above — $400 and $1,100.

Who Will Be the Next Andrew Moreno?

Last summer, Andrew Moreno set out to work hard on his tournament game. Weeks later, he’d go on to ship an event at the Venetian in Las Vegas for $127,740, and was already seeing the fruits of his labor.

Less than one month later, the San Diego resident won an even bigger tournament — the first ever $10,000 buy-in Wynn Millions $10 million guarantee. He took home $1,406,106 for beating out a massive field of 1,328 entries.

The historic tournament shattered its lofty guarantee with nearly $12.5 million in the pot. Wynn attracted some of the game’s biggest stars to its luxurious resort, including Daniel Negreanu, Jason Koon, Alex Foxen, and Maria Ho.

“The 2021 Wynn Millions made an incredible impression on the poker world, and we’re excited to continue growing this event for years to come,” Ryan Beauregard, Executive Director of Poker Operations at Wynn Las Vegas, said in a press release. “The wide variety of players and personalities from around the globe who participate in this tournament make it a world class experience.”

PokerNews will provide daily coverage of the $10 million guaranteed tournament along with other events from the 2022 Wynn Millions Poker Series. For more information, visit wynnpoker.com.
