UNLV’s new executive online courses in gaming law starting March 1

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is launching new online executive training courses in gaming law and regulation starting March 1 at its William S. Boyd School of Law, in partnership with global gambling operator Entain.

This online training program is designed for operators, regulators, lawyers and others working in the gaming industry. These mostly asynchronous programs will launch during the first and second quarters of 2021 and be created and taught by instructors with decades of professional gaming and teaching experience. The first courses for this program started on January 10, as reported by Yogonet.

The program will eventually consist of eight classes designed to prepare professionals to meet the sophisticated regulatory and operating challenges facing the gaming industry. Designed to be completed over three months, participants will be able to complete 20-25 hours of training with each course through the online portal, and faculty may choose to organize virtual meetings as part of the online program. Participants are not required to hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree or first degree of law required to practice law in international markets in order to enroll.

Courses starting March 1 include:

Additional courses in development include Public Policy and Comparative Study of Gaming Laws and Regulations; and The Legal and Operational Environment for Sports Betting. The program will be offered in an asynchronous format with course content available on March 1. The cost is $2,500 per course.
