888 continues its unprecedented growth across world markets with a host of recent developments. Last week saw the iconic brand granted a license ahead of Ontario, Canada’s first open regulated iGaming market with gaming expected to get underway in the province on April 4.

This week we see 888 expand its games library in Spain with a deal to add Bragg’s ORYX Gaming and associated content there, and finally, Spearhead Studios will launch with them marking the developer’s UK debut to be followed soon by a partnership in Italy.

In Canada…

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has issued 888 a license ahead of that market’s first open gaming regiment wherein they won’t simply be supplying the government-owned Crown Corporation, Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) with content or services but operating as a stand-alone operator.

The license brings to 19 the number of locally regulated markets for 888 which include seven in the United States. Liberalization of the market away from the government monopoly began in 2019 when the provincial government announced it was setting a course that would see private operators participate directly in the market.

Itai Pazner, 888 chief executive said. “As a group, our focus is on strengthening our presence and offer to customers across key regulated markets,” “To that end, Ontario represents an attractive long-term growth opportunity for 888 and this is an extremely strategically important milestone for us.

As we prepare for launch in the coming weeks, we are excited to bring all of 888’s leading products and games to new audiences across the province, providing our unique and differentiated experiences to players.”

In Spain…

The first tranche of games from the ORYX RGS portfolio has gone live with more titles expected to be released soon. The company’s RGS (remote gaming server) portfolio includes content to be released at 888casino from partner Blue Guru Games and Bragg‘s own Atomic Slot Lab in-house studio. Spanish players now have access to a new array of localized and unique content. The launch follows closely on the heels of similar expansions of the partnership in Sweden and the UK.

VP of B2C Casino at 888, Talya Benyamini, said: “We are pleased to extend our partnership with ORYX games and offer its games to 888casino players in Spain. This will provide our customers with an increased portfolio of dynamic and exciting titles, which is an important part of our product and content-leadership strategy.”

Last year, ORYX established itself in four new jurisdictions and launched its content on 140 new brands through 80 new operating partners.

Meanwhile, in the UK…

Spearhead Studios will enter the market for the first time in partnership with 888casino. Spearhead Studios’ CEO, Mathias Larsson said, “This partnership means a lot to our company. 888casino is an amazing partner and are very strong in the regulated markets they operate in.”

He added, “We are also thrilled about going live with them in Italy soon because it is unexplored territory for us.”
