The ChampionChip Games at 888poker continue marching towards their thrilling conclusion, and once again it is poker stars hailing from Brazil that are shining the brightest. In the recent batch of ChampionChip Games events, Brazilians picked up another five medal finishes, including four outright victories, extending their lead over Ukraine in the latest standings.

Event #13 – Marathon (Deepstack) ChampionChip Games

The first of the Brazilian victories came in Event #13 – Marathon, a $22 buy-in deepstack affair that saw 644 players create a $12,880 prize pool. The top three finishers turned that $22 investment into a four-figure prize, a healthy return for sure.

Brazil’s “LendaFlavio” crashed out in third for $1,187, leaving fellow countryman “Britopoker22” heads-up against Armenian “Martin_015.” The Brazilian got the job done and his hands on $2,228, leaving the runner-up to bank $1,625.

Some 578 players turned out for Event #14 – Triathlon, and they fought it out for a slice of the $6,000 prize pool. This was the one of only two recent ChampionChip Games event that a Brazilian did not finish inside the top three places.

United Kingdom’s “AlwaysJKoff” fell in third place, turning their $11 buy-in into $576. The event ended in a chop between “CaptainObv” and “chq_tt” with the latter officially finishing second for $904 and the former becoming a ChampionChip Games champion and $988 richer.

Romania celebrated its first ChampionChip Games victory when “cif05” triumphed in Event #15 – Decathlon. The $5.50 buy-in deepstack tournament drew in a 645-strong crowd who battled it out for a share of the $4,000 prize pool. Cif05 secured $692 of that sum when they brushed aside Canada’s “TimsDonut,” who collected $504 for their efforts. Third place and the bronze medal went to German grinder “TilerPoldi,” a finish worth $368.

Event #16 – Surfing (6-Max) ChampionChip Games

The latest batch of ChampionChip Games events switched to a six-handed format, with Event #16 – Surfing being the first of the short-handed trio. It was an $11 buy-in event with 767 runners and a $7,670 prize pool.

Once again, a Brazilian walked away with the top honors, albeit after a heads-up deal. First, Sweden’s “Zaniacmaniac” busted in third for $786, prompting “Jackpot1337” of Finland and “LCaue2020” of Brazil to strike a deal. The Finn reeled in $1,258 for their second-place finish, leaving LCaue2020 to collect a $1,273 score.
