Industry

In July of this year, we reported about Station Casinos decision to close and demolish three of their Las Vegas properties. Those included Fiesta Henderson, Fiesta Rancho, and Texas Station. Shortly afterward, the company announced a fourth casino, Wild Wild West, would also be torn down.

Now, however, the company has revealed even bigger plans to expand their presence in Nevada. Station Casinos’ parent company, Red Rock Resorts, said that be 2030 they hope to six new casinos added to their Nevada portfolio, which would “basically double the size” of Station operations in the state.

One new property that is an absolute certainty will be their new Durango Casino Resort, which will be located on in west Las Vegas on Durango Drive. That location sits near the 215 Beltway, and is expected to welcome its first guests in the fall of 2023.

Although things are still fluid, we know that Station Casinos has also purchased property on Flamingo Road near the 215 Beltway, on the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Cactus Avenue, and an additional 126 acres on Las Vegas Boulevard South.

The company has also been able to acquire property in the Skye Canyon and Inspirada neighborhoods, as well as. And there is another parcel Station is pursuing out on Losee Road in North Las Vegas, but that purchase that not closed yet.

It’s still unknown which property will be developed next, because Station Casinos will only make that decision after the launch of the Durango casino. The company says that the economic conditions and demographics then will help them make that decision.
