The United Kingdom Poker Championships (UKPC) returns to action after a nearly five-year hiatus, and PokerNews‘ live reporting team are on the ground covering the £560 buy-in £500,000 guaranteed UKPC Main Event from the uttering of those immortal words “shuffle up and deal” until the eventual champion is in possession of every chip in play.

GGPoker and Dusk Till Dawn have come together to relaunch the popular UKPC. Two Main Event Online Day 1s run at GGPoker on January 7 and January 12, with the first of three live Day 1s taking place at Dusk Till Dawn, Nottingham, on January 13.

Online satellites from only $1 are running now at GGPoker, while live satellite specialists can try and win a £560 seat in the numerous £80 Main Event satellites running at Dusk Till Dawn during the early part of the schedule.

Main Event players sit down with 200,000 chips and play to a 30-minute clock on each Day 1 and 40-minute blinds on the final day on January 16. The online Main Event Day 1s follow the same structure, except blinds increase every 15 minutes due to the faster speed at which online poker tournaments are dealt.

Each Day 1 concludes when only 15% of the field remains, with those top 15% of players progressing to Day 2 with at least a min-cash in tow. With £500,000 guaranteed to be won, the prizes in the Main Event should provide a significant bankroll boost at this early stage of the new year.
