$110 Million Bellagio Renovation

The $110 million Las Vegas make-over is underway. The Bellagio renovation of all rooms and suites in its Spa Tower, which includes 819 guest rooms and 104 suites, is expected to be completed in October, with the first set of rooms available in July. The Spa Tower redesign will deliver “contemporary accommodations inspired by the beauty and tranquility of Italy’s Lake Como,” according to the resort. The rooms and suites will feature custom furnishings and art influenced by Italian style and couture, while the color palettes will be inspired by the Lake Como and the Alps. The suite corridors will have handmade Italian light fixtures and midnight blue doors.

Champalimaud Design, a New York-based interior design atelier, partnered with MGM Resorts’ International Design Group to create the new design for the Bellagio renovation. The suite bedrooms will feature cream-colored tufted headboards, custom TV armoires in a sycamore wood grain, and floral touches that pay homage to Italian fashion. The living areas will have curvilinear sofas, benches, and chairs that bring a “comfortable elegance” to the rooms. The bathrooms will have custom vanities integrated with lighted mirrors and white marble surfaces, as well as motion-sensor lights for convenience. The design team took inspiration from Lake Como’s surrounding flora and the classical style of the building’s architecture to create a residential aesthetic with a timeless sense of luxury that is uniquely Bellagio.

Ann Hoff, President and COO of Bellagio, said that the Spa Tower’s beautiful and luxurious new suites and guest rooms will reinforce their position as one of the hospitality industry’s premier destinations. The resort’s commitment to delivering unparalleled accommodations, experiences, and guest service for their discerning guests from around the world is the hallmark of their brand promise. The Spa Tower suites will set the tone for the arrival experience with its midnight blue doors and handmade Italian light fixtures. The plush suites’ neutral-colored wall coverings will provide a chic backdrop for the custom furnishing and accent pieces inspired by Northern Italy.

The Spa Tower’s extensive redesign, a major part of the Bellagio renovation, encompasses various suite types ranging from the 850-square-foot Salon Suites to the luxurious 2,500-square-foot Executive Hospitality Suites with billiard lounges and home theater living areas. The newly refurbished suite categories also include 1,000-square-foot Bellagio Suites, 1,500-square-foot Penthouses, and 1,500-square-foot two-bedroom Bellagio Suites.

The King room is designed with a color palette that emulates the stunning sunrise reflecting on the tranquil waters of Lake Como. Meanwhile, the Two Queen Room is designed with the serene hues of a sunset over the lake and incorporates calming tones with flickers of gold and amber. The Bellagio renovation made certain that these room types feature luxurious elements such as marble floors, custom furnishings, illuminated bathroom mirrors inlaid with mother of pearl, and a separate soaking tub and shower.
