PokerStars, the global poker platform, has announced Kerryjane Craigie as its new Ambassador for Women in Poker. Craigie, a well-respected figure in the poker community, brings extensive experience and a strong commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within the game.

Craigie’s poker journey began in 2012 at the Hippodrome Casino in London, where she managed the collaborative poker room between PokerStars and the Hippodrome. This partnership has grown to become one of the most prestigious card rooms in London. Her dedication and vision have since elevated her to the role of Director of Poker at the Hippodrome Casino.

In 2023, Craigie joined the Women’s Poker Association (WPA) board, taking charge of the ‘Raise it Up’ campaign beyond North America. She will soon launch this initiative in Europe and globally, underscoring her commitment to creating an inclusive poker environment.

As a skilled player, Craigie has achieved significant milestones, including winning the UKIPT Women’s Event in Brighton in 2023, finishing second in a WSOP bracelet event, and being the last remaining Brit in the inaugural Colossus event at WSOP 2015, where she finished 84th out of 23,400 participants.

In 2014, Craigie founded the Ladies Club, a community of women who meet monthly to share strategies, mindsets, and experiences. She has also supported women at competitor events, highlighting the importance of growing the game and advancing women in poker, regardless of brand allegiance.

To celebrate Craigie’s new role, PokerStars will host a special Women in Poker event during the dinner break of the WSOP Ladies Championship in Las Vegas. The PokerStars Ladies’ Night Ambassador Reception aims to bring together women in the industry to network, celebrate women in poker, and gather feedback on upcoming initiatives.

The reception will feature complimentary food and the opportunity to meet Kerryjane Craigie, along with PokerStars ambassadors Jen Shahade and Maria Konnikova.

I am delighted and honored to be given the opportunity to promote and support women in poker as a PokerStars ambassador,” said Kerryjane Craigie. I truly believe that the mindset that PokerStars has and their belief in making a difference is on point in today’s environment. Launching an active program for Women in Poker with initiatives to encourage, support, and promote this game we all love is as exciting as it gets.

There are complex moments at a poker table when someone in a minority, and not just talking gender, feels uncomfortable. It’s time to make that a thing of the past, and we can all make a conscious change. I’m beyond thrilled to be a part of it and raring to go!”
