Day 1cd Action

Although the turbo Day 1d wouldn’t start until later, there were plenty of players in action early including two-time WPT Champions Club member Tommy Vedes (pictured). Having won the 2009 WPT Festa Al Lago for $1,218,225 and the 2012 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown for $779,520, he’s now looking for a WPT Prime title for his collection.

Meanwhile, Attila Saracoglu sent three players to the rail with pocket kings in the same hand while Rafael Ben led when registration closed. Andrea Zigrossi was also building up a stack, eliminating Emrah Akali and Yiladizhan Ekin in quick succession.

Valeri Topuzov

And when the bubble came, it was a double bust out that brought Day 1c proceedings to an end. First, Valeri Topuzov (pictured) ran kings into the aces of Elena Litviniuk to burst, but action wasn’t done. On another hand, Fuat Erturk was dominated with ace-eight versus the ace-ten of Ilyas Unlu. There was no help on the board, with the pair splitting the min-cash of $1,940.

That means that although 152 players were in the money, just 151 players will return for Day 2 after 27 advanced from Day 1d.
