It seems only two minutes ago since PokerNews announced 888poker LIVE was launching the UK Poker League (UKPL), yet here we are writing about the fledgling tour’s penultimate stop of 2024.
Reading, the British town that gave the world authors like Jane Austen and Michael Bond, and comedian Ricky Gervais, will host the 888poker LIVE UKPL at the Grosvenor G Casino on Rose Kiln Lane from September 23-29. Hundreds of poker players will be hoping to do some writing of their own, their name into 888poker LIVE’s history books, that is, by the time the seven-day festival concludes.
888poker LIVE UKPL Reading Schedule
All 888poker LIVE UKPL stops feature similar schedules so players can enjoy the same tournaments regardless of which leg they attend. The first event starts at 3:00 p.m. BST on September 24, the first of three starting flights in the £250 NLHE 888poker Opening Voyage.
That tournament is followed by a £150 Pot-Limit Omaha 4/5/6 card event on the same evening.
The biggest events shuffles up and deals on September 26. First, there is the £1,100 NLHE 888poker High Roller at 3:00 p.m. followed by Day 1A of the £560 UKPL Reading Main Event. Players have a choice of four flights in the Main Event, with Day 1D on September 28 expected to be the far busiest of the quartet.
While the Main Event is whittling down its field over the weekend, there is a £400 NLHE 888poker Big Shot event, a £150 Seniors (50+) before the £200 Closer rounds off a fantastic week of live poker action in Reading.

888poker LIVE UKPL Main Event Results So Far
The 888poker LIVE UKPL began at the start of 2024 in Coventry. Jamie Le won the inaugural UKPL Main Event, topping a field of 371 to capture a £37,605 top prize.
The tour headed north of the border to Edinburgh, where Scottish star Michael Kane triumphed over 310 opponents, winning £25,208 after a three-way deal involving Helder Cascacasena and Tom Jarry.
Luton was the next stop. It took place in March and saw Ian Swan emerge victoriously with acareer-best haul worth £24,530. Like in Edinburgh, the UKPL Luton Main Event ended with a three-handed deal; Andreas Orthodoxou and Muhamed Mia were the other beneficiaries of the chip.
888poker LIVE took the UKPL to Manchester in April. Its £560 Main Event attracted 328 entrants, and Jamie Geraghty outlasted them all. His reward? £30,610.
Last time out, in late August, Leeds hosted the UKPL. A player wishing to remain anonymous won £26,355 after a heads-up deal with Muhammad Romanowicz. This leg saw 289 players buy-in.

Although it is too late to win a UKPL Reading Main Event seat online at 888poker, satellite for the upcoming Coventry leg are in the tournament lobby right now. 888poker LIVE Coventry runs from October 10-20 and acts as the tour’s Grand Final. A £560 UKPL Coventry Main Event is scheduled alongside events such as a £1,100 High Roller, £888 NLHE 888poker LIVE Main Event, a £2,000 High Roller, and more.
