FanDuel, a leading name in North America’s online gaming industry, has partnered with the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) to become its Official Sportsbook Partner and exclusive in-app streaming provider in the United States. This collaboration promises to elevate fan engagement by offering unprecedented access to PWHL games through live streaming and integrated betting options.
As part of the agreement, FanDuel announced that it will stream up to 90 regular-season games and playoffs directly through its app. This feature allows fans to watch live action while placing bets, including player prop bets, novelty markets, and Same Game Parlays, all in one platform. The partnership seeks to redefine how hockey enthusiasts engage with the sport, merging viewing and wagering into a seamless experience.
Fans will also see FanDuel’s branding integrated throughout PWHL games beginning this season, reinforcing its presence as a significant partner in women’s hockey. According to Dale Hooper, General Manager of FanDuel Canada, “This partnership is about creating a new era of fan engagement—one that brings hockey closer to fans while helping grow the visibility of women’s professional sports.”
A Growing Momentum for the PWHL
FanDuel’s partnership adds to a series of strategic moves by the PWHL to expand its reach and enhance fan engagement. Recently, the league secured Scotiabank as its first-ever banking partner and joined forces with Amazon Prime for media distribution. These collaborations reflect the league’s commitment to growing its commercial footprint and solidifying its place in the professional sports landscape.
The league has also witnessed significant milestones in fan attendance. In January, a game between Ottawa and Montreal set a new record for professional women’s hockey with 8,318 attendees—the highest turnout across all leagues.
Expanding Fan Access and Engagement
The integration of live streaming and betting through the FanDuel app aims to revolutionize how fans connect with women’s hockey. The platform not only provides a convenient way to follow games but also offers new opportunities for fans to interact with the sport through various betting markets. With FanDuel as a partner, the PWHL is poised to attract a broader audience while delivering an enhanced viewing experience.
