The World Series of Poker Circuit‘s second festival of the year will be hosted by the Thunder Valley Casino Resort.
As the WSOP Circuit Choctaw Durant gets underway in Oklahoma, across the country in Lincoln, California, the Thunder Valley casino is prepping for the next festival. The team there is getting ready to kick-off the WSOP Circuit Thunder Valley with a $400 Seniors Event on January 16.
The festival will include 16 numbered ring events, with additional satellites starting as early as Monday, January 13.
Festival Highlights From The WSOP Circuit Thunder Valley
WSOP Circuit Thunder Valley has 16 events on the docket.
Most players will be looking to play either the $1,700 Main Event with its $500,000 guarantee or the $400 Monster Stack and $1,125 Last Call which each has a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool.
If Texas hold’em isn’t really your bag, you might prefer one of the pair of Omaha eight-or-better tournaments or Event #9 which is an unusual T.O.R.S.E. mix (H.O.R.S.E. with hold’em replaced with lowball triple draw).
Players can satellite into the main event online or in one of the daily satellites running on-site at the Thunder Valley Casino.
The Defending Champion: Travis Egbert
The last time the WSOPC was in town, Travis Egbert walked away with the Main Event ring and a cheque for $214,565 minus taxes.
This was ring number three for Egbert’s and it was hard won. Egbert had to battle it out for ten hours at the final table, half of which was spent heads up against Xiong Thao.
The pair were the final two players of a 812-entry field that put $1,230,180 in the prize pool.
Thao took home $142,540 for second place.
