The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Livingston, Texas held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Ischoopa Travel Center on the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation. The new space includes 81 Class II gaming devices in the east side section of the building.

The west side of the building features a convenience store equipped with a variety of snacks and tobacco. A food concession will be announced. A 12-bay fuel station with diesel fuel is also available for customers.

“The expansion of our travel center not only provides economic benefits for our tribe but is also providing additional jobs and serves our community,” said Chairman Rick Sylestine. “Plus, local residents are excited that we’ve gone to a 24-hour operation, which is much needed in our area.”

The ribbon-cutting ceremony of Ischoopa Travel Center included the tribes’ two tribal princesses performing the Lord’s prayer followed by the ribbon-cutting from 1st Chief Donnis Battise and 2nd Chief Herbert Johnson, Jr. Tribal members were invited to attend the event.

“Our Naskila team have been working together very hard to make this a momentous day for Naskila and especially for the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe,” said Doug Searle, General Manager. “We’ve given the convenience store a new look while renovating the former tobacco store into a Class II gaming center for our guests to enjoy.”

The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe owns and operates the Naskila Casino, which was first opened in 2016 with 365 Class II gaming devices. Today, Naskila Casino has over 900 Class II gaming devices, two cafes, a gift shop, and now the Ischoopa Travel Center.
