Connecticut Online Gambling Launch

Industry

We can add another state to the list of those expanding their gaming to the web, as Connecticut online gambling has thrown open their virtual doors. The state made a “soft launch” for its internet betting program on October 12th, and if all goes well the full launch could come as soon as October 19th!

Games will be available to just a few state residents during the soft launch, and bets will only be accepted during certain times of the day while testing continues. Once up and running, games will be available via the Connecticut Lottery Corporation, as well as the Meohan and Mashantucket Pequot Tribes.

The Lottery will offer online sports betting within the state borders, while Tribal gaming can also offer online casino gaming, limited to what has been approved. That will include more than 100 games. However, during the soft launch no live dealer or peer-to-peer casino games will be allowed.

The Chairman of the Mashantucket Pequot Nation, Rodney Butler, spoke to the Hartford Courant about the launch of Connecticut online gambling, saying ”We’ve made it to the finish line and we’re excited to finally launch.”
