Sands China Ltd. has officially unveiled its revamped Londoner Grand Casino, previously known as the Pacifica, at The Londoner Macao resort. The grand opening, held on September 26, comes just days before the lucrative Golden Week holidays, set to run from October 1–7.
The reopening forms part of the company’s $1.2 billion investment plan to overhaul and expand the Londoner Macao complex.
The redesigned casino is aimed at both premium and mass-market customers, incorporating over 20 gaming tables that had been temporarily relocated during the renovation. Industry analysts, including Goldman Sachs (Asia) Ltd., had anticipated that the revamped space would be ready in time for the Golden Week, a peak period for gaming and tourism in the region.
This upgrade is part of Sands China’s broader capital reinvestment program, reflecting its efforts to enhance its competitive position in Macao’s gaming sector.
In addition to the casino, Sands China is also revamping 2,500 to 3,000 rooms in the former Sheraton hotel, rebranding them under The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts by Marriott International. The number of suites will increase significantly from 360 to 1,500.
Speaking about the hotel revamp, Grant Chum, CEO and President of Sands China Ltd., said: “This extraordinary hotel will serve as a gateway to Macau’s fascinating cultural heritage.”
The redesigned accommodation will feature an elegant townhouse atmosphere inspired by London’s Mayfair district. Some suites will offer private terraces, children’s rooms, media rooms, and private plunge pools.
