With the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) set to return to Las Vegas next week, October 8 – 10 at The Venetian, Yogonet caught up with Korbi Carrison, Vice President of G2E at RX USA, to learn more about what new features and activations make this latest edition a can’t-miss event for the gambling industry.

“With the incredible slate of exhibitors and participating companies as well as an education program packed with insights, this year’s G2E will offer something for every gaming professional,” Carrison tells Yogonet. “The future of gaming is truly born here at G2E!”

G2E is just a few days away from returning to Las Vegas. What can you tell us about the way in which registration and bookings for the event have advanced? What are your major expectations for this edition?

We’re thrilled for all that G2E 2024 has in store. With nearly 400 exhibitors and participating companies showcasing the latest gaming technologies and innovations this year, attendees can expect to be immersed in the industry’s latest emerging trends, like iGaming, sports betting, and AI.

The education program is packed with over 300 speakers and 95 sessions and will provide attendees with valuable insights into critical topics from the industry’s foremost experts and leaders.

We are also really excited about Tuesday’s keynote. First, AGA President and CEO Bill Miller will kick off the day with his annual State of the Industry Address. Following his address, CNBC’s Contessa Brewer will moderate a two-part interview with MGM Resort’s CEO, Bill Hornbuckle, and Peter Jackson, the CEO of Flutter Entertainment. G2E 2024 is set to be our most engaging and impactful event yet.

Which innovations and major topics do you expect to take center space this October? Online gaming in particular was a major theme in 2023, with the debut of a new iGaming Zone. Do you expect sustained interest in this industry segment this year as well?

Attendees will see every facet of the gaming industry at this year’s G2E, from traditional and Tribal gaming to iGaming and sports betting. Exhibitors love to use G2E as the time to debut and showcase their latest innovations, and this year will be no exception, with cutting-edge technologies and advancements in areas like iGaming, online sports betting, and digital payments set to occupy many spaces on the show floor.

Online gaming will continue to be a major theme at G2E this year. After the overwhelmingly positive feedback we received following last year’s debut of the iGaming Zone, we decided to bring it back on an even larger scale. G2E 2024’s iGaming Zone will use an expanded space to demonstrate the evolution and growth of iGaming and online sports betting throughout the Americas.

LatAm is one of the most exciting regions for the gaming industry today, with markets such as Brazil drawing global attention. What role do you expect Latin America to play in such a global event as G2E? Which opportunities could the show open to stakeholders looking to expand in the LatAm region?

The excitement behind the growing Latin American gaming industry will be captured and visible throughout G2E. As the region’s industry has grown, so has the presence of Latin American exhibitors, operators, and stakeholders throughout G2E.

LatAm professionals will have ample opportunities to connect with members of the gaming community from around the world, allowing for new potential collaborations and partnerships to form. Our networking events and spaces like The Lab will provide these professionals with the chance to engage directly with emerging technologies and trends, such as iGaming and sports betting, which have taken off in Latin America.

Finally, we will also be hosting three education sessions devoted to the regulatory landscape and online gaming industry in Latin America. Through these sessions, participants can leave G2E knowing how to best navigate and invest in this exciting market.

What are some of the major highlights of this year’s G2E education program? What does the team take into account when curating the sessions, in order to make sure the sessions bring fresh perspectives and insights to G2E visitors?

The education program is truly one of the standout features of G2E, and each year we aim to raise the bar. For 2024, we’ve curated 12 program themes that reflect the most pressing issues and emerging trends in the industry.

The process of selecting these themes is year-long and highly collaborative; we analyze attendance and feedback from the previous year, consult with industry experts, and identify the next big topics shaping gaming.

Due to popular demand, G2E is bringing back workshops as a part of the G2E education program. These sessions will be twice the length of a standard education session and highly immersive, providing attendees with strategies and insights that they can immediately implement in their business operations.

We’re confident that this year’s education program will deliver a truly impactful learning experience for gaming professionals at all levels.

What are some other highlights and hall activations of G2E 2024 that you could highlight for us? And lastly, why should gaming stakeholders not miss this year’s edition?

One of the most exciting new features at G2E 2024 is the debut of the Colleqt QR system, which will allow attendees to instantly access exhibitor information by scanning a booth’s QR code. This technology makes it easier for visitors to gather details without the hassle of holding on to brochures and papers, while also helping exhibitors track and follow up with attendees more efficiently.

With the incredible slate of exhibitors and participating companies as well as an education program packed with insights, this year’s G2E will offer something for every gaming professional. It’s an opportunity stakeholders in gaming can’t afford to miss if they want to stay ahead of the industry’s trends and innovations. The future of gaming is truly born here at G2E!
