Celebrity Poker Action in Vegas

The winner-take-all tournament inside PokerGO Studio featured commentary from Jeff Platt and Brent Hanks, who broke down the action for viewers who may be more familiar with celebrities than poker.

Steiny dominated the game early and cracked Mongeau’s pocket kings as he flopped a straight with six-four suited to eliminate the Nevada-raised influencer, who re-entered before running pocket queens into the aces of Klein. Mongeau spoke to PokerNews about her unlucky run of cards.

Steiny had a massive chip lead up to five-handed play before doubling Klein up to even the two out. Steiny then eliminated BookItWithTrent and Shane Victorino to enter heads-up play with the chip lead. Klein chipped away at Steiny before an ace-king against ace-queen confrontation with Steiny having the worst of it.

Steiny was drawing to just three outs after the turn. “I’m a loser,” he groaned as a he called for a queen with his AQ on the board of 8283 as Waka Flocka Flame studied the board.

“A flush don’t even win?” the “Hard in Da Paint” rapper asked as Steiny told him he didn’t have a flush draw. “You just need a pair.”

The river was a blank and Klein secured his first CPT victory. “It feels good to have just totally outplayed Steiny heads-up,” he told CPT Founder Blake Wynn in a winner’s interview.

A few months ago, Klein told PokerNews he was a newcomer to poker. But he was all poker strategy in his winner’s interview. “Heads-up is a different game because a lot of it is about high cards and just the odds are so different. I don’t think Steiny understands the intricacies of heads-up.”
