Opportunities to play poker in Las Vegas have fallen once again, as the Planet Hollywood poker room will be shut down on Sunday, July 11th.
A spokesperson for the Caesars properties has confirmed the closure of the 10-table room. Poker remains active at other Caesars properties, including Caesars Palace, Bally’s and Flamingo.
There was a time when Las Vegas had over 1,000 tables, but with the closure of the Planet Hollywood poker room, along with recent closure at Binion’s, Mandalay Bay, the Mirage, and Excalibur, that number has fallen to about 300.
As land-based poker seems to be dwindling, online poker continues to surge. You can read more about the closure when you visit the Review-Journal. Truly a sad day.
