Record Run for Nevada Gambling Revenue Continues

Industry

Oops! They did it again! Nevada gambling revenue broke $1 billion in the month of July, marking the 17th month in a row to break the billion dollar mark. The state collectively brought in $1.31 billion, to be precise. Like numbers? Here are some more: Part of that $1.31 billion was the second highest revenue total ever posted from Las Vegas Strip casinos, and the highest total since the pandemic began back in 2020.

More numbers? You got it: The State Gaming Control Board reports that the $1.31 billion total for July was also the fourth highest monthly total for Nevada gambling revenue in history! Plus, it was almost 30% higher than pre-pandemic numbers in July of 2019!

Even more numbers? Okay, well here’s how the figures stacked up for Nevada gambling revenue in July:: The state took in over $12 billion from slot machine play, while table games generated $475 million. Sports books in the state took in bets of almost $420 million, with mobile bets making up about two-thirds of the handle.

Revenues off the Strip was a different story, although not horrible. Local casino revenue was down over 3%, but still up almost 10% when compared to pre-pandemic numbers from July of 2019. However, it was the Fremont Street where the suffering took place. Downtown casinos saw the largest drop in revenue from this same time last year, down almost 16% to just $60 million.
