Las Vegas Strip Drives Another Revenue Record

There has been another month of record gaming revenues for Nevada. This time, the Las Vegas Strip is the force behind the state reaching and exceeding the $1 billion mark. Statistics for April were just released from the by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, and they make it the 26th month in a row they have gone over the billion dollar mark.

The casinos down on Fremont Street saw a year on year rise of over 10% in revenue, bringng in close to $75 million for the month. The casino on the Las Vegas Strip were only up about 5% from the year before, but were still able to bring in close to $625 million. Other casinos around Vegas reported a slight decline.

Clark County as a whole saw the bulk of the billion dollar month, raking $995 million in revenue from more than 200 licensees. Many experts believe that the resorts on the Las Vegas Strip benefited from the sports playoffs with the Golden Knights in the playoffs, as well as multiple concerts and special events, and even some large conventions.

Slot machine revenue was up over 4% and generated close to $840 million. Meanwhile, sportsbooks revenue was up 28% and generated over $32 million, with mobile wagers making up about two-thirds of the action. Visitors to downtown and the Las Vegas Strip were up just 1% from April last year. However, April being the fourth month of the year shows that the volume of tourists has actually been 13% higher than 2022.
