WSOP Now Available in Three States after Recent Pennsylvania Debut

Latest News

The World Series of Poker on Thursday officially entered Pennsylvania’s online poker space following a successful two-day field trial and final approval from the state Gaming Control Board.

To celebrate its market debut in the Keystone State, the WSOP is offering special sign up promotions for local players as well as newly announced bracelet events, weekly tournaments, and daily satellites with buy-in fees starting from $1 that provide the chance to win a seat into this year’s WSOP Main Event slated to take place in Las Vegas this fall.

The online poker platform has promised to provide the greatest value to Pennsylvania players by regularly hosting tournaments with hefty prize pools and low buy-ins.

The WSOP added onto its previously announced WSOP Online gold bracelet schedule from July 1 through August 1 with a host of newly unveiled daily bracelet events for Pennsylvania online poker aficionados from August 8 through August 15. The operator is thus providing increased chances to scoop a gold bracelet from an official WSOP event.

To sign up and play with the newly launched site, players are required to be physically located in the Keystone State. They can make deposits and benefit from a slew of special promotions on both desktop and mobile devices. Once they open an account with the WSOP.com, they can connect their Caesars Rewards account, if they have one, to earn points toward fine dining, entertainment, and hospitality experiences across Caesars properties with every hand played.

WSOP’s Third State

Pennsylvania is the third state with a regulated online poker market where the WSOP brand provides its services in, with Nevada and New Jersey being the other two. It should also be noted that the operator is the fourth one to run an online poker room in the Keystone State joining market leader PokerStars PA, Borgata Poker and BetMGM Poker.

Pennsylvania is the first US market to gain access to 888poker’s new poker client, Poker 8. The software was unveiled only recently and while it has been available across Europe, it is only now that it has gone live in the States with the WSOP.

888poker powers the WSOP site under a long-term partnership between its parent company, 888 Holdings, and the latter poker operator’s owner, casino powerhouse Caesars Entertainment, Inc.

Commenting on their Keystone State debut, Ty Stewart, SVP of the WSOP at Caesars, said that they are thrilled to be opening their online poker operation to Pennsylvania and that the real winners in this recent expansion are the local players who join them.

Mr. Stewart went on to say that their team is “laser-focused on providing the most value to poker players in the state and are confident in the potential of our online poker product.”
