Work on New Table Mountain Casino Complex Nears Completion

Latest News

Construction work on a new and larger Table Mountain casino complex that will replace the existing facility in Fresno County, Central California is nearly complete, according to reports from local news outlets.

The new complex is expected to open doors later this year, although property officials have not provided information about an opening date and ceremony.

The Table Mountain Rancheria Band of Indians broke ground on the project in the spring of 2019. The tribe said at the time that the new complex would feature 110,000 square feet of gaming space, which is twice the size of the existing gambling venue. The new casino will offer more than 600 new gaming machines.

The new Table Mountain property will also feature expanded dining space, a special event center with seating for 1,500 people for monthly concerts, banquets, and private events, a gift shop, and a childcare facility. The existing parking will be expanded by 1,000 spaces to handle the expected considerable increase in traffic.

As mentioned above, work seems to be nearing completion and the property could become operational by the end of the year, based on original estimates. However, Table Mountain Rancheria tribal leaders have remained tight-lipped on an opening date.

Fresno County officials told local news outlet GV Wire that mandatory work on roads and traffic signals leading to the future casino complex is still underway and slated for November completion.

New Complex to Also Feature a Hotel

The new complex will also include a 14-level glass-fronted hotel tower with 150 rooms. This is the first accommodation facility to be part of the Table Mountain complex since it originally began operations in 1987.

The new tower will further feature a restaurant on its top level, fitness center, spa, salon, and six conference center meeting rooms, among other amenities.

Altogether the new hotel and casino complex will occupy 600,000 square feet of space compared to the existing 72,000-square-foot casino-only facility.

The tribe’s legal counsel, Dan Casas, said a few years ago when the new property was first announced that they wanted to “build something that will be able to sustain the tribal community for future generations and that they also wanted to “stay within the confines of our promise to keep this on our own land.”

The larger complex is expected to create more than a thousand new jobs, bringing employment at Table Mountain to over 1,450 positions.

Once the new property opens doors to welcome guests and visitors, the old facility of 72,000 square feet will be converted into administrative offices for tribal governmental uses or tribal services, it has also become known.
