This Week in Gambling would like to wish our friends at the Mohegan Sun Casino a very Happy Silver Anniversary! Originally opened in 1996 in the town of Uncasville, Connecticut, the site continues to flourish!
Last week, the Mohegan Tribe celebrated the 25th anniversary of running the world class Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, a mega-plex of gaming and entertainment! But they are not resting on their success. Instead, there are plans to grow the property across the river to another 400-acre parcel! Site cleanup is still a work in progress, but the tribe continues to make plans for the future!
Mohegan Tribal Chairman, James Gessner, recently stated that “It’s been an exciting journey for us. We’ve grown, obviously, our property here with one of the best entertainment complexes in the world”.
Jeff Hamilton, President and General Manager at the Mohegan Sun Casino, said, “It’s pretty amazing. You think about twenty-five years and how our property has changed the amount of patrons that have come here, how many shows that we’ve had”.
