Players respond to different themes and types of games differently and branded slots are no different. But when a genre such as Music Slots generates hit after hit, it only makes sense for developers to continue to grow the franchise.

Play’n Go hit on a formula of capturing the flavor of popular rock bands from the past and has put together a string of hits – the most recent release, Def Leppard Hysteria is bound to take its place in the top five rock slots of all time.

Longtime fans of the sci-fi aesthetic-centric hairband from the 1980s and 1990s will enjoy concert cuts of top songs from the album and tour of the same name. The maths and mechanics as well as the sci-fi-like imagery will capture others.

New Star in a Constellation

Def Leppard Hysteria joins Twisted Sister (We’re Not Gonna Take It), Roadside Riches featuring the legendary ZZ Top, and from the ‘The Godfather of Shock Rock’, Alice Cooper The Tome of Madness, and KISS Reels of Rock in the small but growing catalog of go-to games for the rocker in you.

Jumping into gameplay, we see the Pour Some Sugar on Me feature (based on one of their most popular songs) inspiring players to unluck the ‘sugar’ that will be found hidden behind the bonus game grid. The music syncs up with the visuals as symbols find their way to the bottom of the grid in animation reminiscent of pouring granulated sugar.

Everything about the game simply screams Def Leppard from the sounds to the animations, static art, and on-screen game mechanics. Some elements are more subtle than others but players familiar with the Hysteria iconography will notice the bonus meter is triangular, echoing the Hysteria album cover’s Illuminati-esque symbolism.

A Live Concert Experience

All of the elements come together to emulate the experience of a live Def Leppard concert, a lot like Alice Cooper and the Tome of Madness (see here) spirits players away to one of the greatest stage shows on earth since the 1970s.

The backdrop of a rock concert stage with colorful stage lights sets the scene and several songs from the album keep the party going from the first spin to the last encore.

Charlotte Miliziano, Head of Games at Play’n GO said: “Our collaborations with iconic artists such as Def Leppard continue to prove popular with players everywhere – and their amazing fun to work on too.

“Not only is this great for music and slot fans alike, but it gives us amazing inspiration on how we can push our features further. Like with the Pour Some Sugar on Me feature, it’s all about visuals, clear goals and most of all, entertainment.
